“As the Syrian army” – talk with syrian activist about the riots in Idomeni

Yesterday’s violent riots erupted again on the Macedonian Greek border. Again a flyer should have prompted the refugees to storm the border fortifications. Then the Macedonian units tears gene gas and rubber bullets fired. We spoke with Guevara Nabi which is in Syria for democracy and human rights has been and now have to live to escape the civil war in the camp at Idomeni.

Guevara Nabi tells what happened prior to the protests. “In the morning we had sent a delegation to the Macedonian police, to convince them the border open.” he says. “But she rejected it.” This situation is not talked about in the local news. For it on a flyer. Not Geflüchtete should have sketch, distributes it and stirred so the people waiting for the protests. It plays but no role for Guevara Nabi. “Boy who had fled called this on itself at the borders to position and to stand up for an opening.”, Guevara Nabi says. Not the distributed leaflets were the problem. “The problem is that there is no information from official page at all.”, says Nabi. He sees no evidence that European activist * inside would instrumentalize the refugees. The incident and how he is discussed in the media, shows less like activist * inner refugees “exploit”. He makes it rather obvious how little media trust to a self-determination in their actions the refugees.

After short negotiations failed, hundreds of people at the border fences were according to Guevara Nabi. “You try to get over the border fortifications,” he says. “Affiliated Macedonia started to shoot with tears gene gas and rubber bullets. Macedonia was today just as brutal as the Syrian army.” For hours the Macedonian army to arbitrarily shot into the camp.

Blaming the escalation lie for him but not for the refugees. “There is no official body about which there is information or messages. Stalling us for two weeks during the registration, the living conditions make sick and the Macedonian army is hard and violent.” According to Nabi were people desperate and saw no other way out. “It is a dramatic situation here and no one worries about the refugees. What do you expect, what they are doing? “, he asks. He expected more involvement by the European States. “The EU must make up the limits, to protect the people on their escape from death!”

When the tear gas – and rubber floor operations, more than 300 people have been injured, many of them children. Some were brought by their parents to the border, to take over in the hope. Most had kept them in far-away tents and huts hidden. The tear gas but moved over the entire camp in the accommodation.

In Germany and Europe veruchen politician * inside himself the conscience with juxtaposed away to talk (“we must endure such images.“). For the people at the borders, which has dramatic consequences, Guevara Nabi reported. “A man from Syria told me that he had first fled IS before, after he had placed his home under control. Sadly he has told me then, because the EU did not have he went back and now fights on the side of the terrorist organization.”

Five years ago, so Nabi, told they would have to dive the dictatorial regime in Syria. “We wanted a democracy, with freedom, without corruption and without dictators – but we’re not there. And all because of the conflicts of interest between States, the ‘great powers’. And now here we are.”
